Basically I used to be really in touch with my more creative side, and in turn would express myself much more accurately than I do today. I had my first diary when I was in grade school and I liked using it at first. I wrote things about my days...sports practice, a crush I had in school, etc. Then occasionally I would write something a little deeper, and it was analyzing what others where doing around me and how it made me feel. At some point I guess I stopped writing because it wasn't a good feeling when I'd reveal something negative about my life or other people's lives around me. I mean why would an elementary kid want to consume her thoughts of a more harsh and painful reality? Well to turn the pages a few years, I discovered that I could channel my writing in a way that was more general, still expressed feelings inside, but where more hypothetical. I would write poetry and would leave out any name at all. I would use I, me, you, they...etc (what is that, first person?) and then those negative feelings that stopped me from writing before, no longer where an obstacle. I had a livejournal before...but I sorta set it up for the wrong reasons...kinda like writing something that is "secret" and then leaving it for someone else to "accidently" stumble upon and read. So I stopped. Now I want to dive into some issues that I dealing with, and if someone out there wants to read and comment on, then I like that. If not, then I can go back and read them myself and keep track of where I'm headed.
